Greetings & Welcome from the brothers and sisters of Cross!

The cross plays an important role in our congregation.  Go ahead, say it – “Duh!  That’s obvious from the letterhead – from the church sign – from the very top of the building.”

But it goes beyond that.  The Apostle Paul described the main theme of His ministry this way: But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, ²⁴but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:23,24)  The same is true for us.  The cross on which Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of the world, was crucified is at the center of our ministry.

As a congregation, we exist because Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, only to rise from the dead to also assure us of eternal life with Him in heaven.  This is our daily source of comfort, joy and strength.

But we are here not only to enjoy these blessings for ourselves, but also to share them with others – starting in the Rockford community, the surrounding areas and then reaching out to the world.
